THE UPS AND DOWNS of an ESL TEACHER.

Good day to you all!
To start with a little story … that I have named:
The Ups-and-Downs of an English Teacher
(actually your ESL teacher).

This week, specifically on Monday night, I went to bed with a feeling of sadness which was really from frustration, deception and disappointment. I received a phone call telling me that they had cancelled the second group of level three English. There were not enough inscriptions. Before going to sleep I questioned HOW I would deal and manage a group of fifteen people, closing the second one brought up the numbers in the first group . I was worried about the conversation ‘time’ that I had talked about at the last class in December. I worried that it would be difficult to satisfy all of you and give you that space.
On Tuesday morning, there you were, all happy and enthusiastic about seeing everyone once again. I had problems joining in with you, I myself was still worried about how the class would go. I still felt upset and couldn’t let go of the feeling of frustration. The class started …
Well I’m happy and relieved to say that things went ‘swimmingly’!
Now yesterday  when I woke up I realized that I had not gone to le Centre communautaire for my usual English class … and I was not sad. In fact I had a busy day doing things that needed to be done!
So all in allstill disappointed about the extra salary, things have worked out for the best. Another life lesson and another ‘point’ for this popular saying: Everything happens for a reason.
I’ll see you all next week and I’ll give you some feedback after having read your personal objectives for this winter session. I wish you all a great session and I want to officially WELCOME the newcomers and also the students that are coming back after a few sessions away.

Have a great weekend and don’t forget your English assignment!
I’m very very happy to see you again!

NEW YEAR'S WISHES for YOU!!

HELLO! and Good morning to you all.

I have not been very active on my blog
since the Holidays started.

I had a terrible bout (ça ressemble à ‘un boutte’)
of the flu that is the influenza virus!!
I had not been as sick as that for ages!!
It really got me down and was very unpleasant.
I was in bed for three days.
And I must have slept for days!!!

And then came recuperation time
because this really bad cold really took a toll
on all my precious energy.
So last week I finally decided to go up North
and asked a friend if I could stay for a week.
She said YES! and I got the best medicine:
getting some fresh air and leaving my appartment,
the perfect combination and remedy.

Now I’m trying to get my strength back
so I can be at my best for the beginning of the winter session and the classes which start next Tuesday.
I think the change will also be good!
I’m really looking forward to seeing you again
and getting started on a new path.

So I'll see you all next week à UTA
and the following week at the Centre communautaire.
Until then, stay healthy because the
flu epedemic is still out there and it's nasty  :(

My 1213 resolution: CELEBRATING FRIENDSHIP!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I received the following text from a friend, Carole, who e-mailed it to me a few days ago.! It is something to reflect upon. It gives insight on some on the reasons we have friends in our lives. Also why we have to let go of certain people and go through some form of mourning because of the loss.
I'm posting it today because I want to share with a LOVELY friend! You may be one of mine or someone else’s but a FRIEND indeed!!

                                  SUZANNE

P.S.  The text is meant to be a serial e-mail. I hate those things but I did something about it,  as you can see. I decided to keep the essence of the message and the English version. If YOU would like to forward it to others ... just do as you wish … I've done what I like and feel comfortable with. LOVE!!

THE PERSONS IN YOUR LIFE
 People come into your life
for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you know which one it is,
you will know what to do for that person.
.
When someone is in your life for a REASON,
it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty,
to provide you with guidance and support,
To aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.
They may seem like a 'godsend' and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part
or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something
to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met,
our desire fulfilled; their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered
and now it is time to move on.

Then some people come into your life for a SEASON,
because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it, it is real ... but only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons,
Things you must build upon in order
to have a solid emotional foundation..
Your job is to accept the lesson,
Love the person and put what you have learned to use
in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life,
Whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.
I would like to add ...
And wherever you are on this planet!
