HAPPINESS IS LEARNING A NEW LANGUAGE.

Well GOOD AFTERNOON!!!!

Above you will find the information
concerning the ESL classes
offered  for the 2018 fall (autumn)session.
The only thing I am keeping is this image
that I found this last year on Google images.
It got my attention and I decided to use it!

WHY DO YOU ASK?

There are three principal reasons
why I loooove this idea or prediction
of 'making friends with...'
I think that it is based on reality and
 I'm talking here about facts.

Number one fact: my experience as a teacher.
Some of you students have really become friends
in the classroom and outside of it also.
You are present and helpful and love
 to encourage your fellow classmates
in their own need to achieve their personal goals.
I love to see you being open to this mutual experience.
It makes me feel really great as a teacher
 and also as a person!!!

Number two fact: you are meeting native speakers of English
 and embracing this adventure.
You are open to speaking English the best way you can
because you have found confidence in the way
you personally express  your thouhgts and opinions
using  this second language.

No more running away from these opportunities ;)
They are real life experiences  and they are often
unexpected situations you find yourself in.
You are open to "I know I can do this!"
WHO KNOWS, you maybe could meet potential friends.

Number three fact: well it's more of a personal experience.
I too as a teacher have met some really great persons
through the ESL sessions and  we have also become friends.
This is one of the best parts of teaching and coaching!

I love English!
I love teaching ...
I love teaching English
and even more,
I love my students!

As always,
SUZANNE

CHOCOLATE ....MY FOREVER FRIEND!!

 and you have been
part of my life  every day and
ever since my first Easter BUNNY RABBIT!!!

It's Easter Sunday and it's my time of the year
to thank you dear CHOCOLATE
for all that you have brought me through the years.

You are the best!!! I would add the 'BESTEST'.
The best food, the best snack,  the best dessert.
I loooove your texture, especially you, 'MILK' chocolate.

You are also the best therapy:
you are serotonin and dopamine.
You are original and unique!
You are very creative as well, just like me.
You come in different shapes and textures.
You always help me to make the most delicious brownies
and truffles, chocolate cake and frosting,
 tortes and cheesecake,
puddings, cupcakes, fudge, mousse and fondue,
and cookies, how about double chocolate ice cream,
and the best of all .... wait....wait for it:
chocolate molten lava cake, decadent and delicious.

The best is of course that I can share you
with my friends, family and students.

I know...I know...
If you are reading this right now,
you are probably thinking that

You are right! I've lost my heart to chocolate!
And for the past few years
I loose it every time I hear  'righteous' people
analysing the health benefits and
 everything related to chocolate consumption!

PLEASE ... SHUT UP!!!
You are talking about my best 'food' friend!!
Just have some and ENJOY IT!!!
That's my health mantra.
And I'm sticking to it!

SUZANNE ;)

NOTE ... I even put it in my 'chili con carne'
but like tomatoes, never/ever put it
in the refrigerator ... That's a NO! NO!
                      you will ruin it

Well HELLO there!
I'm back and this time
I'm going to introduce you to NORMAN.
He is an advanced student and he is the  winner of
the 'Enter and Win Your Dictionary' contest.
This past fall, the contest was open to all students
 from every level of English.
The subject of the entry was a written text
in which each student had to tell
the Committee (formed for the occasion)
why HE or SHE should be the student
to win their Longman learner's dictionary.

They also had to promote this very handy learning tool
as their NEW 'English' BEST FRIEND.
The winner would win their dictionary (35$) and
their text would be published on my blog.

Well here it is finally!

THE WINNER’S ENTRY LETTER
________________________________

Dear committee members,

There could be many reasons to enter this contest to win my Longman dictionary. It could be because this book is so thick that I could step on it to grab something too high and out of reach. It’s so heavy that I can put it on the bottom of the door to keep it open. Or use it as a weapon in case of a sudden attack or to even knock someone out.
Maybe I could use it as a dumbbell to develop my muscles. Put it on my desk as a paperweight. Use it on my little granddaughter’s chair to lift her up when she’s eating with us.

I could use my Longman for all those reasons and many others but I won’t… I’d rather use my Longman for the inside of it.

Zilch, awry, havoc, ravenous, nurture, eavesdrop… These words have something in common: I didn’t know of their existence before I randomly selected them in my dictionary. Of course, it’s good to learn new words but it’s even better to know the meaning of them. My Longman will handle it. It will give me the first meaning of the word and even more.

I certainly have a lot to learn about the English language. Therefore, from now on, this book will be my friend. Till I speak fluent English and even after, the Longman dictionary will always help me to get the right words. And maybe sometimes, I’ll use it as a paperweight.
