CONTENTED ESL students, Louise and Isabelle

 SUMMER IMMERSION,
an enriching experience
for you and for me!

HELLO to all of you!
How are you doing!

Right now I’m sitting under the parasol, on my balcony overlooking Lac Quesnel. It’s a wonderful sunny day! I’m taking it easy and thinking of you. "Why?", you ask, "Do you have students on your mind?" Well, yes! Isabelle and Louise, two intermediate students that follow evening classes at Le Centre communautaire Laurent-Venne, have just left my summer cottage, on their way back to Montréal, after a three-day immersion in English.

You all know how much I love teaching, how I love to cook, and really enjoy the company of others, especially my students. Their presence during these past few days gave me the opportunity to experience all three. I’m a lucky person! So … immersion for me is what I call ‘a win-win situation’, don’t you agree? Everyone gets something out of the experience. Everyone comes out a winner!

Isabelle and Louise are such great women to start with, one is a teacher and the other is a speech therapist. They were at their best really excited and raring to go! They were also very committed to the experience, their determination very addictive. And most of all, open to whatever I put them through … At a certain point all three of us were tired! It was a good thing thuogh because I’m a terrible ‘snorer’ and they slept through it all, the noise that is … But the best thing of all is that they loved my ‘food’ (joke)! And they got to do the dishes!!!  ;)

It was so rewarding for me to see two smiling faces leaving. On the other hand, sad to see them go. I’m going to miss you both. But I know I will get to see you again at the end of September … and that’s only in a few months … Wow! How time flies!

Back to the lake and the magnificent view and weather we had and still are having. It’s a magical place and only good things happen here! I am truly grateful and feel so energised! Are you sure you won’t come and join me too! One thing I know for sure,  is that I had such a fun and a great time!!

Thank you for coming, Isabelle & Louise,
and trusting me in a different approach to learning English!

Gratefully yours,
SUZANNE

Note: I wrote this on Wednesday, July 11 at two in the afternoon,            but sending it today from my home.
