ANOTHER FUN TIME !!! YESSS! ANOTHER IMMERSION

Hi! To each and every one of you.

Today I’m writing for the first time
on Suzanne’s blog.
YES! This is my first experience … MEOW!
She is presently in bed taking a well deserved nap.
So I thought that I would give her a break.
Hello! I would like to introduce myself.
My name is Lucien or Lulu,
for those that have met me.
I’m Suzanne’s pet, a good friend and companion.

Yesterday, Julienne, Micheline (Mimi), Johanne, and Marcel left after supper. They were headed back home after a three-day immersion here at the lake. I think that it was the last one for this summer (or maybe not you know), there is still the whole month of September before us! And I know for sure that it makes the “teacher” very happy and content to have visitors that are students. She is soooo passionate about teaching, just as much as she loves me.
It’s also a great time for me ‘cause I get a lot of attention

… The only complaint that I have is that I always have to lend them my bedroom and my bed! And I have to sleep on the couch for a couple of nights.
Ok! Having said that, more on the immersion.

This is what was so interesting to observe: they spoke a lot of English, unfortunately I couldn’t understand! It’s strange considering that my Suzanne is bilingual and that I’m not, but anyway, they spoke to me in French and of course I got to show them my clever tricks for some treats.
  Yessss!!!
Sorry!   Back to the immersion.

They worked a lot outside, on the balcony, where the “classroom” is and I could here them laugh a lot so it must have been ‘loads of fun”! People always seem to have a great time. I think that Mimi ‘took a lot of the flack”! Suzanne teased her a lot, a lot!!! Pronunciation and rhythm was tough! They worked on question sentences and verb tenses. For vocabulary, there were ‘board games’ and a new full length ‘blackboard’ painted on the kitchen door, just to note expressions as they came along! Busy, busy all the time! Really intense too.

I know that Suzanne is a great cook and they all prepared a variety of food and drinks like Sangria and Margaritas, made from scratch (she wouldn’t have it any other way).  I heard a lot of ‘yum, yums’. I guess they enjoyed the food. The seafood risotto was a hit; the homemade pizza too. They had buttermilk pancakes with Diane’s family’s maple syrup for Sunday’s breakfast. They also got the chance to prepare and bake Suzanne’s grandmother’s scone recipe. We didn’t have the time to organize a tea-party though, but they got to take them home! I, on the other hand, always eat the same thing ... but it’s OK considering I get quality!

The fun part was taking it easy and chatting during meal times. Mimi had a hard time sitting down. BOY o’ BOY this lady likes to move around. She’s a little ball of energy. Julienne is the laughing lady and she really, really likes to laugh, she has the most beautiful dimples! Not to mention Marcel that never stopped talking! MEOW! Does he have a lot to say!! And to boot, he is the perfect HANDYMAN!!

Today is a day of rest … It’s a lot of work but I know for sure that Suzanne loves doing these immersions during time off from regular classes and to boot up North at the summer cottage. I’m certain that she will keep on offering them over the next years! I hope so because I want to keep coming up North. IT’S THE BEST!!! I get to see new people and every day I go outside and sleep in the sun!!

MEOW! for now and
I hope to have the pleasure
of meeting you one day very soon!!!

LULU

Suzanne’s worst student!
… my excuse is that I’m a pussy cat!
