SOAP versus SOAP

A little joke that is going around. Videos especially the ones on YouTube ‘go viral’, that’s the expression used for the internet, it compares to a virus that spreads. I received the French version two weeks ago, now here’s the English version all the way from New-Zealand

I don't know WHY I didn't figure this out before!!!!!!
I wash my hair in the shower and the shampoo
runs down all over my whole body.
Printed very clearly on the label is the following warning:
FOR EXTRA VOLUME AND BODY.
No wonder! I have been gaining weight !!!!

Well, I have gotten rid of that shampoo
and I am going to start using
dish washing liquid instead.
Its label reads: DISSOLVES FAT THAT IS
OTHERWISE DIFFICULT TO REMOVE.

Problem solved !
And … If I don't answer the phone,
I'll be in the shower!

TOUCH --- Keifer Sutherland's new TV series

Good morning!
Last night I watched TOUCH . It was the 'premiere' of a new television series, in which Keifer Sutherland plays the father of an autistic child.
As a TV fan, I really enjoyed it. It has a new approach and is an original like "Lost" and "Heroes" without the comic book elements. It is quite good and definitely worth watching but ... and there is a but ... it might be difficult for some of you, as students of English, to follow. The language is fine, it's the rythm and the complexity of the subject that will be difficult to comprehend (confusing). It deals with a complex subject matter, human inter-connected-ness. Phew! That's a mouthful! And the pace of the action is, at some moments, really fast! So you have to pay a lot of attention which might be too much to deal with or to handle.

It's worth a try though! Let me know what you think!
For a look, click on title for the TRAILER (mainly US, media)
A preview of a film or TV show.
The trailer for that movie makes it seem like it would be fun.

A DEFINITION AND MESSAGES

For today, let's keep things light!
Here are a few jokes that I've been saving.

One is a 'kooky' definition
and the next two are 'wordings', messages,
that were found on some signs!

  AND a FINAL LAUGH:
REMINDER:
Your jokes are welcomed in class!
And are really helpful ...
physically and mentally!
See you in the coming week!

ESL 2012 WINTER SESSION

ESL 2012 WINTER SESSION
Today is Thursday and it’s a beautiful sunny day out there. It’s also a ‘beautiful’ day for me as a teacher to know that I’ll be teaching two groups of students in the coming months. Next Tuesday I will be starting the ESL 2012 winter session.
One group has already been formed and I ‘m very happy to say that ALL 14 of them are former students and classmates. I’m thrilled that you are coming back! You are so wonderful and committed to your learning. I feel supported and encouraged every time you return or should I say, continue the learning process!!
I also know that out of last year’s beginners groups, most of you are coming back to my classroom. Yessss!!!

Today I’m writing this to you to let you know that I’m thrilled,
excited, satisfied,
greatly pleased,
filled with happiness,

on cloud nine, over the moon,
and tickled pink (idioms)
to use just a ‘few’ words to express my feelings!

So this weekend I’ll be ‘hitting the books’
and reviewing my documents, old and new,
to get ready and to welcome you back to class!!
I really LOVE to teach and
really LOVE to know you’re back.
CAN’T WAIT !!
Have a great weekend!

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY ...

Hellooo!
I'm still here ... in front of my friendly PC!
I wanted to let you know
that I spent some great holiday time
with my friends and very limited family.
Hope you had great holidays and celebrations.

Remember just a while before Christmas
I bought myself a gift: an electric stand mixer.
I spent a whole two weeks in the kitchen.
I made the most amazing sweets and cakes.
I gave them all away as my Christmas gifts.
WOW!!! People liked them so much!
We loooove food, don't we?
Especially when we know it was made
 especially for us to enjoy!

Today, I've been BUSY, busy, busy at my desk.
I've been working on some new documents
and 'tweaking' older ones,
for the upcoming ESL classes,
starting the last week of January 2012.
So I've moved from the kitchen to the office.

Before leaving, I want to take this opportunity
to THANK YOU all for your New Year's wishes.
I really appreciate you thinking of me!
And I am soooo looking forward to seeing you again
and meeting this session's new students.

LOVE to YOU!
