A CASE of MISTAKEN IDENTITY or MISINTERPRETATION
A 'quid pro quo' always makes for a fun story! Here it is.
Dylan is in line waiting (in a queue) at his local supermarket when all of a sudden, he notices that the very good-looking (dishy) redhead behind him in the queue has just raised her hand and is giving him a big 'Hello'.
He is rather taken aback that such a ‘looker’ would be waving to him, and although her face is vaguely familiar, Dylan can't place where he might know her from, so he says, ‘Sorry, do you know me?’
She replies, ‘I could be mistaken, but I think that you might be the father of one of my children.’
Dylan's mind shoots back to the one and only time he had been unfaithful, ‘Good Grief!’ he says, 'Did we meet at Frank’s bachelor party in Toronto ?’ Dylan continues, 'When I was released from the police station that night and got back to the hotel room, you had left!'
‘No!' she replies smiling … ‘I'm your son's English teacher.'

Hi Suzanne,
Would he have quid pro quo if Dylan had a clear conscience... Then, how the story would have finished?
Here is an other quid pro quo but in French:
Je vais inviter sept amis !
Je n'ai pas bien entendu. Combien serez-vous chez vous ?
J'ai dit "sept".
Ah ! Dix-sept.
Non j'ai dit "sept" sans "dix".
Ah ! Cent dix ! Mais c'est un banquet.
Unfortunately, it's impossible to translate.
Bye
Huguette
Very good! Were you the redhead?:)LOLL

Hi!
Huguette,
You certainly made a good point!
WOULD there have been a quid pro quo?
Now HOW WOULD the story have finished ... without the guilty conscience, welll, there probably wouldn't have been a joke!!
Suzanne ;)
